Its government consists of three major branches: Legislative, Judicial, and Executive. When the dust settled in the early 2200's however, the Terrene Protectorate underwent radical changes and reforms and effectively turned into a functional representative democracy, similar to those found in North America and Western Europe in the 19th, 20th, and 21st centuries. Due to the amount of unrest the civil war brought, the Protectorate was initially a highly militarized institution, led by a Grand Protector. The Terrene Protectorate, or Protectorate for short, was the government established on Earth in 2185, years after the victory of the New Terran Republic over the United Systems Colonial Federation in 2182. Our aim is for unity and harmony across the universe. We offer homes, guidance, education and safety. From our home on Earth, we bring our message to the people of the universe. Predominantly Humans but also various other races.
